Asian Song Festival Click here to view event flyer On Monday, May 12, 2003 at the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theatre an Asian Song Festival was held. The Festival consisted of works from traditional Asian folk songs to contemporary songs by composers like Maiko Chiba, Winifred Hyson, An-Ming Wang Performers at this event included: Mira Yang, Soprano Washington Tokyo Women's Club Chorus, conducted by Bobbie Leahey, Korean Men's Ensemble, conducted by Myung-Hyun Yoon, and the Chinese Folk Orchestra of Greater Washington, directed by James Xu and conducted by Duke Tang. This event was sponsored by the Asian American Music Society, Chinese Music Society of Greater Washington, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and the National Association of Professional Asian American Women.
