About the Asian American Music Society The Asian American Music society was founded in 1989 as an organization dedicated to the continued appreciation of all music. We believe that all cultures bring their own unique flavor to the world of music.  We seek to proudly display that diversity through concerts, workshops, galas, and other various events around the Greater Washington Area. The Asian American Music Society was officially formed in the fall of 1993 and incorporated in January,1996. AAMS has performing members, regular members, an executive committee and a board of directors representing all Asian Americans. AAMS supports the Asian Pacific American Council, Federal Asian Pacific American Council and National Association of Professional Asian American Women. AAMS performs at Asian organization functions, as well as other events, to promote the cultural diversity of the community.
