Bethesda Summer Music Festival's 2009 Season The Bethesda Summer Music Festival is a two-week intensive workshop for young professionals, college students, and high school students. Flyer The 2009 Summer Festival will be held from Monday, June 15th to Sunday, June 28th. The festival will commence with performances of Lucia di Lammermoor, Impresario, and Peter Pan. Festival participants will also perform in a Pops-style concert and a Liederabend. We are Foremost for the Participants The Bethesda Summer Music Festival hopes to enrich its participants, whether they are emerging professionals or high school students, preparing for college auditions. The festival offers for all participants private lessons, coaching, improvisation classes, health and pedagogy seminars, and a variety of master classes. These offerings are not a requirement and are to be used within the best judgment of the participant and their teacher. The goal of the festival is to nurture the students into the next level of musicality. The program builds skills to be used in performances throughout the intensive two week program. We join in a positive environment promoting the camaraderie and networking of music students and professionals. The Bethesda Summer Music Festival is committed to offering the best opportunity to its participants at an affordable cost. Our faculty consists of passionate professionals from around the Globe who perform and teach at some of the most prestigious organizations. As we continue to produce quality performances we have received reviews from publications like the Washington Post. Our great location provides us with a great performance space and allows our participants to be close to the Nation's Capitol, but have the safety and security of the suburbs. The festival provides the perfect environment for the young professional musician. We Continue to Build in Prestige and Tradition The Bethesda Summer Music Festival was founded in 2002 and has since produced many performances in the American Musical Theater and Opera repertoire. While many participants continue to return year after year, the alumni list continues to grow with great singers. "It is a wonderful opportunity to enrich the young singer's
potential,
and to put one in touch with other highly motivated adults and children." Festival Participant, 2005, Classical Singer Magazine | ||
