Dr. Mira Yang Mira Yang appeared with the Altenburg Opera Orchestra in Altenburg Germany; AIMS Opera in Graz, Austria; Societa dei Concerti in Santa Margherita, Italy; the Korean Symphony Orchestra at the Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall; Mount Vernon Opera in the Chapel; The Washington Opera; The Washington Concert Opera; The FMMC Chorale and Orchestra; and San Francisco Concerti Orchestra. She has performed in solo recitals at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, the White House Christmas Concert; on tour in Korea; and in Wuppetal, Germany. Dr. Yang was the winner of the 1998 San Francisco Concerti Orchestra International Competition and also the Korean Foundation and Sarage Foundation career grant awards. She has performed lead roles in Abduction from the Seraglio, La Boheme, La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, Magic Flute, Lakme, L'Ellisir D'Amore, Don Giovanni, Orfeo et Euridice, Romeo et Juliette, Impressario, Rigoletto, Un Ballo in Maschera, Lucia di Lammermoor, Blue Margaritas (Libby), by Roger Trefousse, and the title role in the world premiere of Lan Ying at the Kennedy Center.

Mira Yang

Mira Yang earned her D.M.A. at the Catholic University of America and Master's of Music Degree at the Peabody Conservatory of Music. She studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and was a finalist in their competition. She also attended AIMS in Graz, Austria, the Shaker Mountain Festival, Dicapo Opera, and the Minnesota Opera Center with Wesley Balk.

Ms. Yang is Artistic Director for the Bethesda Summer Music Festival promoting Opera and Musical Theater repertoire. She is the Students Voice Competition Chair for the Friday Morning Music Club. She teaches JCC school of music in Rockville, Musical Theater Center, Potomac School in McLean, and Adjunct Assistant professor at the George Mason University. She has been an Adjunct Professor at American University and voice faculty at the Catholic University of America. Currently, she is Community Advisory Board for the Kennedy Center, president of the Asian American Music Society Inc., and Arts in Communities Advisory Panel for Maryland State Arts Council.
