Tsunami Benefit Concert Click here to view event flyer On Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the Korean United Methodist Church a benefit concert for the tsunami victims was held. Performers at this event included: Kate Perry, who sang the national anthem, India Gayamangala Artists, Indonesian Gamelan Music, Sri Lanka Young Dance Group, Washington Chinese Guzheng Society, Washington Toho Koto Society, and the Korean-American Musicians Association. This event was sponsored by the Asian American Music Society, Asian Fortune, Asian Pacific American Heritage Council, Chinese Music Society of Greater Washington, Embassy of India, Embassy of Indonesia, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Japanese American Citizens League, Korean-American Association of Washington, Korean American Foundation, and The Korea Foundation. | ||
